The Peoples Democratic Party on Monday called for an investigation into allegation of fraud, stealing and looting of funds in the Niger Delta Development Commission under the All Progressives Congress-led administration.

I watched sadly yesterday as Hon. Victor Antai who couldn’t win the position of Oron Federal constituency openly scolded the people of Uyo under the umbrella of APC coalition of Uyo Senatorial District Youths, all in the name of bringing them to work with or for Chief Godswill Akpabio, a man he idolised as the leader of the APC in the state; the very man that was defeated by the PDP at the poll, tribunal and appeal court, and even in a rerun in his very home local government area. The tremendous political crisis in Edo State may have assumed another dimension as the state governor, His Execellency, Godwin Obaseki yesterday said he is set to probe the Benin Specialist Hospital built by his predessor, Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
Obaseki reiterated that it has become imperative for Edo people to know the true state of affairs at the facility and how much taxpayers money the Oshiomhole administration spent on the hospital project that was commissioned by President Mohammadu Buhari in November 2016. Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has ruled out the possibility of changing its name, ahead of the 2023 general election. Recall that Doyin Okupe, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan had launched a campaign on social media calling for the change of name for the party.
Other supporters of the party had also made a similar call, arguing that such move would help the main opposition party return to his dominant position.

Imo: The state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Charles Ezekwem, has dumped the party, PDP.
