The Peoples Democratic Party on Monday called for an investigation into allegation of fraud, stealing and looting of funds in the Niger Delta Development Commission under the All Progressives Congress-led administration.
I watched sadly yesterday as Hon. Victor Antai who couldn’t win the position of Oron Federal constituency openly scolded the people of Uyo under the umbrella of APC coalition of Uyo Senatorial District Youths, all in the name of bringing them to work with or for Chief Godswill Akpabio, a man he idolised as the leader of the APC in the state; the very man that was defeated by the PDP at the poll, tribunal and appeal court, and even in a rerun in his very home local government area. The APC candidate for the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Akwa Ibom North West, Chief Godswill Akpabio was yesterday defeated in a court ordered Essien Udim rerun election by Senator Christopher Ekpenyong of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Other candidates Rt. Hon. Nse Ntuen who contested for the House of Assembly was defeated by Barr Esse Umoh of the PDP and Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Akpan was defeated by Rt. Hon. Nsikak Ekong of the Peoples Democratic Party. Below are details of the election result as released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
